Privacy Policy
ChefMind (the “App”) respects your privacy. This policy describes how we handle your information.
1. DATA COLLECTION
The App processes the following data locally on your device or through our AI service provider:
• Photos you take of food for nutritional analysis
• Text descriptions you provide about food
• Health data (age, gender, weight, height) imported from HealthKit with your explicit permission
• Nutritional preferences, allergies, and health conditions you voluntarily enter
2. DATA PROCESSING
• Photos and text descriptions are sent to Google Gemini AI (via Firebase) solely for nutritional analysis. They are not stored by us or by Google beyond the time needed to process your request.
• HealthKit data is read only with your permission, used solely within the App to calculate nutritional targets, and is never transmitted to external servers.
• All user preferences and profile data are stored locally on your device using SwiftData (Apple’s on-device database).
3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
• Google Firebase — Used for remote configuration (e.g., model names). No personal data is transmitted to Firebase.
• Google Gemini AI — Receives food photos and descriptions for analysis. Google’s privacy policy applies to this data.
• RevenueCat (if applicable) — Used for managing subscriptions. Only purchase and app-level identifiers are shared.
4. HEALTHKIT
The App reads HealthKit data only after you grant explicit permission. This data is never stored outside your device, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or analytics.
5. DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION
All your profile data, meal logs, and menu preferences are stored locally on your device within the App’s SwiftData container. No data is sent to our servers (we have no servers). You can delete all App data at any time by deleting the App or clearing the App’s data from Settings.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App.
